I have set up a collaboration to tell stories on the first of each month with music, text and art.

Here’s our opening teaser, a quick exchange with librettist-singer Ziazan (my sister) and artist-animator Martha Orbach:

Here’s our story:

A woman escapes a mob attack and locks herself away. She speaks to no-one but her tame nightingale, until she forgets how to speak – and only sings. She begins to believe herself to be a character in a folk tale, and makes a surprising discovery.

We are creating an origin-story for a character in the Armenian tale – ‘The Nightingale of a Thousand Songs’.

Read the original tale, as described by librettist Ziazan, here.
